Join Our Team as a Head of Operational Estates

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Operational Estates to lead our Estates service across all Trust sites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic development and operational delivery of our Estates service, ensuring it remains safe, efficient, and patient-focused.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance for all facilities.
  • Oversee estate business continuity plans and emergency response protocols.
  • Collaborate with clinical and technical teams on long-term infrastructure planning and improvements.
Day-to-Day Operations

You will play a pivotal role in shaping our Estates strategy, ensuring our infrastructure is compliant, efficient, and future-proof. Your responsibilities will include managing and prioritizing maintenance schedules, ensuring the smooth operation of all hospital engineering services.

Compliance and Performance

You will ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, conducting regular audits and assessments. Performance monitoring will be key, as you work to improve the efficiency of estates services through effective data analysis, benchmarking, and KPIs.

Requirements
  • Expertise in managing complex engineering and building services, with a strong understanding of NHS regulations.
  • Experience in developing long-term estates plans, including maintenance and compliance strategies.
  • Proven leadership ability, with experience motivating large teams and fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Strong financial management skills, including experience managing budgets, developing business cases, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
