About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our award-winning team at NHS Property Services. As an Associate Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering town planning advice across our extensive portfolio, driving forward town planning opportunities, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee planning projects, including strategic site promotion, planning applications, and policy responses.
  • Lead the Planning Academy/Graduate Programme, upskilling junior planners and ensuring consistency in planning activities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify and deliver town planning opportunities, driving value for the NHS.
  • Monitor and influence planning policy consultations at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Provide technical advice on town planning matters impacting NHSPS and the wider NHS estate.
  • Engage with key partners such as NHS England, NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems, and the Department of Health and Social Care.
Requirements
  • Chartered membership of RTPI or MRICS with ongoing CPD.
  • Proven experience in managing town planning projects and identifying planning strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of town planning policies, including S106/CIL contributions and planning applications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in upskilling and coaching junior team members.
