Job Summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Nursing to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of patient care and services within our Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drive the care group programme for patient flow across inpatient wards, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with Care Group Directors of Nursing to implement patient experience initiatives, coordinating local patient satisfaction surveys and developing action plans to address shortfalls.
  • Provide strategic leadership to ensure high standards of care for patients and their families, evidenced through key performance indicators.
  • Lead nursing teams across the Care Group, ensuring appropriate structures are in place to support nurses in delivering exceptional care.
  • Provide nursing leadership on human resource issues, including workforce planning, professional development, clinical leadership, and retention and recruitment strategies.
  • Lead annual reviews of nursing roles and establishment, developing new responsibilities and implementing skill mix changes as required.

Person Specification
  • Evidence of further academic/personal development and current NMC registration.
  • Postgraduate certificate or Master's degree in nursing, healthcare, or management, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • 5 years of nursing experience at a senior level, including experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Ability to operate at a strategic level and maintain an up-to-date understanding of operational issues and challenges.
