FEA Engineer

Altair Engineering is seeking a highly skilled FEA Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. This is a contract position that requires a strong background in simulation driven design workflows, AI/ML techniques, and physics-based AI algorithms.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and apply simulation models to improve design cycle times for accelerated innovation.
- Effectively utilize state-of-the-art optimization software to achieve design objectives within diverse constraints.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to gather requirements, define strategic approaches, and communicate project outcomes.
- Design and implement new methods to enhance existing workflows and establish best practices for AI/ML techniques in design decision processes.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with hands-on experience in utilizing simulations to solve real-world challenges.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant simulation expertise, showcasing proficiency in commercially available simulation tools such as ANSYS, Altair, COMSOL, or similar software.
- Comprehensive understanding of optimization algorithms, design exploration, and design of experiments with practical experience using tools like OptiSlang (ANSYS), Hyperstudy (Altair), and/or modeFrontier (ESTECO).
- Proven record of successful collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams across the organization, effectively communicating results to extract the necessary information.
