About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Education and Training Officer to join our team at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust. As a key member of our Training Ground Programme, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-24 who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET) to develop the skills and confidence to take positive steps towards employment, education, or training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 mentoring to a caseload of participants on the Training Ground programme, supporting them in developing the skills and confidence to take positive steps towards employment, education, or training.
  • Track progress and collect evidence to show the distance the participants have travelled.
  • Work with multi-agency partners to identify the barriers that have prevented young people from engaging in education and employment and help them to develop strategies to overcome these challenges.
  • Build positive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders and referral partners to identify and recruit participants for the Training Ground programme.
  • Work with the Careers and Employability Coordinator to identify meaningful work placement opportunities for young people.
  • Regularly review and monitor the progress of young people on the programme and guide interventions / wraparound support.
Requirements
  • Experience of youth work or mentoring.
  • Experience of providing support to young people with complex needs.
  • Experience of working with young people to create and follow action plans.
  • Experience of designing and delivering interventions to address barriers to education, employment and training.
  • Effective and creative engagement skills with young people.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Experience of coordinating services for young people.
  • Familiarity with community clubs and the work of the English Football League Trust and the Premier League Charitable Fund.

  • Ability to innovate and inspire with a willingness to take calculated risks and challenge the norm.
