Job Description

Apple Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Research Officer to join our team in the Social Justice and Equalities department. As a Research Officer, you will play a crucial role in conducting research and analysis on social justice issues, providing high-quality research outputs, and presenting findings to committees.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on social justice issues, including equality, poverty, and social mobility, and provide high-quality research outputs.
  2. Policy Development: Develop and analyze policies related to social justice and equality, and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
  3. Communication: Present research findings to committees and other stakeholders, and develop links with external research communities.
  4. Collaboration: Work with MLAs, Assembly Committees, and the senior secretariat to scope research requirements and deliver research outputs.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure that research outputs are timely, accurate, and of high quality.
Requirements:
  1. Education: At least an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as social policy, law, or a related field.
  2. Experience: At least two years' post-degree work experience in conducting research and analysis on social justice issues, and producing research briefings for decision-makers.
  3. Desirable: A post-graduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, and at least two years' post-degree work experience in conducting research and analysis on social justice issues.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility. The role will involve working with a range of stakeholders, including MLAs, Assembly Committees, and external research communities.

Salary:

The hourly rate for this role is based on £50,684 per annum.
