Optos Finance Department Opportunity

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales Ledger Assistant to join our Finance Department on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. As a key member of our International Revenue and Accounting function, you will be responsible for accurate invoicing and revenue accounting.

Your primary role will be to ensure the smooth, end-to-end running of sales ledger and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders relating to customer accounts, administer the DD/SEPA processes and cash allocation, and operate the shared mailbox and address queries in a timely manner.

You will also be responsible for administering and collecting due/overdue accounts receivable, performing month-end tasks including ledger reconciliation and reporting, and other duties requested by the company from time to time.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous sales ledger experience, ideally with exposure to Foreign Currency transactions in an International Business. You will also need to possess intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, be competent to deal with complex debt issues, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising Sales invoices and maintaining customer accounts
  • Point of contact for internal and external stakeholders relating to customer accounts
  • Administration of the DD/SEPA processes and cash allocation

  • Month end tasks including ledger reconciliation and reporting
  • Other duties requested by the company from time to time

Requirements:

  • Previous sales ledger experience is essential, ideally with exposure to Foreign Currency transactions in an International Business
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Competent to deal with an elevated level of complex debt issues and prioritise accordingly
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience of positive prioritisation and the ability to juggle a busy workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics GP and banking systems would be desirable
  • Foreign language – French, German or Spanish desirable
