Position Overview

This is a permanent role within a vibrant team, where you will play a crucial part in addressing various global challenges that significantly influence the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, assemble, test, and pre-commission assemblies and sub-assemblies, as well as installations to ensure project delivery.
  • Verify the availability of parts for assembly from inventory and identify any shortages.
  • Assess tooling requirements for specific projects in collaboration with the relevant Supervisor.
  • Execute assembly and construction in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform electrical installation tasks on projects as necessary.
  • Conduct electrical installation, repair, and maintenance activities for workshops and office facilities.
  • Review engineering drawings to understand system assembly, with guidance from the Electrical Supervisor as needed.
  • Ensure all necessary certifications for electrical testing are in place before commencing work.
  • Monitor progress on assembly work scopes with the relevant Supervisor and highlight any areas of concern.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning checks in line with approved documentation and appropriate supervision.
  • Complete all required inspection, testing, assembly, and pre-commissioning documentation accurately, including recording any 'As Built' modifications.
  • Assist in fault finding and system commissioning activities.
  • Identify and communicate any risks associated with workshop hazards and precautions to the Supervisor for specific tasks.
  • Willingness to travel and work nationally and internationally as required, including offshore assignments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings effectively.
  • Certification to operate workshop plant and machinery is essential.
  • Experience in a heavy engineering environment is preferred.
