About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse to lead our team in the collection of blood and blood products. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe collection of blood products and providing an excellent donation experience for our donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Healthcare Assistants, Donor Care Supervisor(s), and Sister/Charge Nurses to deliver high standards of care to our donors.
- Take clinical accountability and operational responsibility for ensuring the safe collection of blood products.
- Oversee and maintain the competency and skills of your team and yourself.
- Motivate your team to promote continuous improvement and staff development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to effectively plan and resource blood collection sessions.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration.
- Experience of leadership and management in a clinical environment.
- Experience of recognising and implementing improvements and change management.
- Experience of monitoring and evaluation standards of clinical care and an understanding of clinical audit and research.
- Experience of initiating and supporting the professional development of colleagues.
- Experience of working to performance objectives and organisational targets.
- Awareness of patient safety initiatives and risk management.

- No night shifts.
- Time owed in Lieu (TOIL).
