About the Role

We are seeking two Support Workers to join our team to provide support to a young man with complex needs. The successful candidates will work together to enable him to access the community and engage in activities that bring him joy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care support, including washing, dressing, and changing, as required
  • Assist with transportation and accessing the community, ensuring the young man's safety and well-being at all times
  • Engage in activities with the young man, such as exploring his environment, playing with sensory toys, and using musical instruments
  • Support the young man with his hoist and special seat for bathing
  • Communicate effectively with the young man, using clear and concise language to ensure he feels informed and included

Requirements

  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, particularly those with visual impairments
  • Ability to provide 2:1 support with transportation and accessing the community
  • Knowledge of personal care procedures and hoist operation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
