Job Overview

Alexander Lloyd is partnering with a leading global enterprise to find a seasoned Strategic Procurement Leader to spearhead the procurement team in Surrey.

This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing the global supply chain operations, ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and sustainability across all procurement activities.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading procurement functions within a large, complex organization and will be instrumental in driving the global procurement strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor a diverse team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a global procurement strategy aligned with the company's objectives, focusing on cost savings, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the best value, quality, and reliability.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes and systems to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring cost control and optimal resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to support cross-functional initiatives and business goals.
  • Sustainability and Social Responsibility: Promote sustainable procurement practices, aligning with the company's commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large, global organization.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team. In-depth knowledge of global supply chain management, procurement best practices, and contract negotiation.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Technology and Systems: Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
