Role Overview:
Seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead the procurement team in Surrey. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing the global supply chain operations, ensuring cost-efficiency, quality, and sustainability across all procurement activities. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading procurement functions within a large, complex organisation and will be instrumental in driving the global procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement a global procurement strategy aligned with the company’s objectives, focusing on cost savings, supplier management, and risk mitigation.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the best value, quality, and reliability.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes and systems to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Budget Management: Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring cost control and optimal resource allocation.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to support cross-functional initiatives and business goals.
- Sustainability: Promote sustainable procurement practices, aligning with the company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: MCIPS
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large, global organisation.
- Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of global supply chain management, procurement best practices, and contract negotiation.
- Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Technology: Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
