About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate (Graduate) to join our growing FinOps team at flinder. As a key member of our Smart Finance Function, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional client services and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize cloud accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage One/Live) to maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, process receipts and payments, and prepare VAT returns for clients.
  • Prepare suggested payment run files for client approval and complete period-end close activities, including prepayments, accruals, and journals.
  • Prepare monthly accounts, including standard reporting from the accounting system, and support finance managers with monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, develop strong working relationships, and provide regular status updates on client deliverables.

Requirements

  • Degree of 2:1 or higher in a related business, finance, or accounting field.
  • Strong computer, data, and process skills, with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to proactively question everything to improve quality and processes, with a client-centric approach.
  • Drive and desire for progression within flinder, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
