Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs to achieve their goals and develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, promoting their independence and self-advocacy.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist students with mobility, lifting, handling, repositioning, and use of wheelchairs/walking aids, as needed.
- Transport students to and from educational settings, using own vehicle, public transport, or walking.
- Contribute to student progress meetings and provide feedback to teachers and other support staff.
- Model and promote student self-care and independence skills, including healthy eating, drinking, mobility, and washing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic first aid training and willingness to learn.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (if applicable).
