About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Arriva UK Bus. As a key member of our HR function, you will play a critical role in supporting the Leadership Team and Garage Management to achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Garage Management and the London Leadership Team on organisational change projects and programmes, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work closely with management to reduce long and short-term absences, ensuring adherence to policies and processes, and implementing initiatives to improve attendance and productivity.
  • Provide guidance on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations cases, managing a large caseload to minimise Employment Tribunal claims risk.
  • Engage in pay and policy negotiations, participating in central negotiation committee meetings as appropriate, and building and maintaining positive relations with unions.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives across sites, driving key metrics and performance improvement opportunities, and overseeing the execution of core HR processes, including attendance management, discipline, grievance handling, and performance management.
  • Champion Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellness, and Employee Relations agendas within the organisation, and drive HR projects for local sites and UK Bus, aligning them with the overall HR strategic plan and adapting to site-specific needs.
Requirements
  • Experience in performance management, employee relations, and industrial relations, with a strong understanding of organisational design and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering results and achieving business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to travel to our garages across London, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
