About the Job:

We are seeking an Accounting Assistant - Accounts Payable to join our finance team based in the UK. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and highly organized individual who can support Accounts Payable in managing daily financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process data into ERP or other IT systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Generate reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain standard entries into the General Ledger (invoices, goods/materials/services acquisition, accounting for costs by type, purpose, reconciliation of accounts).
  • Match invoices with Purchase Orders and obtain approvals from internal stakeholders within 7 days.
  • Address any queries to ensure no unprocessed invoice is older than 7 days.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Provide general support to the finance team as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Secondary education with at least GCSE English and Mathematics grades A* to C or equivalent.
  • 12 months experience of working in an accounts payable function.
  • Basic experience and skills in MS Office products (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and monitor deadlines.
  • 30 Hours per week, times to be agreed.
