An exciting opportunity has emerged to oversee the Private Sector Housing Team and the Private Rented Property Licensing Scheme as the Service Manager for Private Sector Housing.
This division operates within a broader framework of Regulatory Services under the Law and Governance Directorate, focusing on enhancing the quality, safety, and options for residential accommodations in the area.
Key Responsibilities
The primary objective of this position is to assist the Head of Service in evaluating and advancing all private sector housing operations. This includes:
1. Developing strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery.
2. Managing property licensing and ensuring effective regulation.
3. Implementing legislative powers to uphold housing standards.
4. Ensuring compliance with governance protocols related to property licensing and enforcement against non-compliant landlords.
Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess a BSc in Environmental Health or a relevant housing qualification. Additionally, they should demonstrate proficiency in:
- Investigative techniques
- Comprehensive understanding of the Housing Act 2004
- Knowledge of the Crime & Disorder Act 1998 and Environmental Health regulations.
