We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Crime Compliance Specialist to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our Advisory team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients across various sectors, including financial services, betting and gaming, real estate, crypto, and legal.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of financial crime compliance engagements, assessing and evaluating clients' current financial crime compliance frameworks against regulatory requirements and expectations.
- Support the development of our financial crime offering and working methods, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct reviews of governance and oversight arrangements, risk management, due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and training.
- Collaborate with clients to identify and mitigate financial crime risks, providing expert advice and guidance on regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions to support their financial crime compliance.
- Proven experience in financial crime compliance from another consultancy, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Passion for supporting clients with their financial crime frameworks to mitigate financial crime risk.
- Sound knowledge of the team's strategic sectors, including financial services, betting and gaming, real estate, crypto, and legal, and the inherent financial crime risks.
- A genuine interest in expanding knowledge and skillset into broader sectors and projects.
- Experience of concurrent projects and deadlines, prioritizing work and delivery.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and rational assessments.
- Ability to investigate and resolve problems with some support, escalating as necessary.
- Awareness of quality risk management principles.
