Support Worker for Active Individual

Active Care Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to assist an inspiring individual in achieving their full potential.

Our client, a former Royal Marine with 21 years of service, is actively engaged in life despite facing physical and cognitive challenges following a road traffic accident. He enjoys a range of activities including woodwork, swimming, wheelchair rugby, and gardening with a veteran's charity. He is also an active member of the veteran community and has competed in the Invictus Games.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting him with his daily living needs, assisting with rehabilitation therapies, and encouraging his active lifestyle.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Assist with mobility and transportation as needed.
  • Support with cognitive exercises and activities to promote memory and planning skills.
  • Encourage participation in hobbies and social activities.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive home environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the client, family members, and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience working with people who have physical and/or cognitive impairments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to drive the client's vehicle (optional).
