Required Experience:
Essential:
- Collaborating with the client’s Environmental team across various disciplines, including generalists, ecologists, arboriculturists, and landscape specialists
- Leading weekly resource and progress meetings with the team
- Managing the contract inbox, addressing and forwarding inquiries as necessary, and keeping the scheme delivery tracker updated with new information
- Reviewing task briefs and preparing fee proposals in accordance with client requirements
- Contributing to bid preparations and the overall business development process
- Inputting into project timelines, attending progress meetings, and coordinating site activities
- Overseeing the change management process, including raising early warning notifications and compensation events as needed
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery of reports
- Assisting the client in managing team workloads
- Staying informed about industry best practices
The ideal candidate will work independently, seeking guidance from senior colleagues only when necessary, and will mentor junior staff members.
Desirable:
- A degree in Environmental Science or a related field
- Experience in project management, particularly in environmental projects within the transport sector
- Membership in a professional body or relevant qualifications leading to membership (e.g., IEMA, IES, APM)
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary setting, engaging with various environmental disciplines and stakeholders
- Familiarity with contract management systems is advantageous
- Proficiency in managing budgets, resources, and planning workloads to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate environmental issues clearly and manage associated risks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Project and Excel
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- A proactive approach to developing efficient and practical working methods to achieve client and operational goals
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative or joint venture environments is highly desirable
