Our Client has a requirement for a lead Environmental Consultant, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Knutsford.

**Role Purpose**:
**Job Role Responsibilities**:
The Lead Environmental Consultant will undertake the role of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Coordinator, responsible for providing expertise in environmental issues.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Regulatory Advice

Provide an advisory service supporting clients to understand legislative and regulatory requirements and provide support, when required, to implement regulatory requirements, such as IED and BAT

Permits and Consents

Environmental Assessments
- Carbon Reporting

A knowledge of GHG reporting to ISO 14604-1:2019 would be an advantage for Simplified GHG quantification and energy audits and Carbon Assessment for planning and Life Cycle Assessment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Acts as Technical Advisor on all environmental matters.
- Directly liaises with clients, as requested and where necessary to maintain client confidence.
- Will proactively communicate the vision and strategy of the company, how the Environmental Consultancy Department fits into that and how each individual member of the team can contribute to the implementation of the strategy and the realisation of the vision.
- Key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place in all key areas and performance against the agreed targets is accurately and consistently reported in accordance with the agreed format and timescales.
- To line manage the environmental engineers so that all consultancy and project work is carried out efficiently, effectively, to a high technical standard and to the satisfaction of the client.
- To ensure that all members of the team are technically proficient and to proactively develop the level of expertise within the team so that the team is technically superior to the competition and perceived as such by clients and other influential third parties.
- The level of resource within the department is proactively managed so that internal productivity targets are met and no attractive projects have to be turned away. All staff are kept fully utilised at all times and the minimum possible use is made of external contractors commensurate with maintaining efficiency, technical competence and client satisfaction.
- Staff are proactively trained and developed so that they progressively gain the necessary knowledge and skills required not only to improve short term performance but also to prepare them for future roles which are required by the company and satisfy their long term career aspirations.

**Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications**:
A degree in a relevant environmental discipline
- Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation and policy.
- Professional affiliation with or membership of appropriate body.
- Have significant relevant experience in a consultancy environment or other relevant industry experience.
- Experience of providing competent advice to clients and colleagues.
- Must be customer focused by striving for excellence through understanding, anticipating and meeting the needs of others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to manage/deliver several projects at once.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong IT skills with a knowledge of Office 365 including One Drive and Sharepoint
- Full UK driving licence.
- Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
