About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Primary Healthcare Nurse to join our team at the Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services). As a key member of our multidisciplinary primary healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality person-centred primary care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist high-quality person-centred primary care, considering patients' safety, privacy, and dignity, using evidence-based clinical knowledge and core healthcare guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of appropriate treatment, screening, and advice to patients within your professional competence and in accordance with Defence Medical Services clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Provide safe, evidence-based, efficient, and individualized patient care.
  • Undertake preventative health programmes, such as travel and vaccination clinics, new patients screening, and audiometry.
  • Undertake technical nursing treatments and procedures for patients with complex or specialist healthcare needs, including wound care, sutures removal, Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Cytology, Audiometry, and Ear Care.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals following assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on Sub-Part 1 RNA/RN(A) of the Nursing and Midwifery Register.
  • Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • A Driving Licence is required as staff may be required to work at different sites across Defence Medical Services.
  • Must be in date for Basic Life Support (BLS), Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), and Safeguarding Level 3 (Children and Adult).
