We are currently seeking skilled Back-End Engineers to enhance our Development Community in London. In this capacity, you will play a pivotal role in crafting next-generation software systems to address the evolving needs of the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors.

Since its inception in 2017, Blockchain has established a robust Institutional business, becoming a premier strategic capital partner for leading trading, investment, and mining firms in the crypto industry. Our offerings include lending, OTC and electronic trading, custody, asset management funds, and various financial products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with fellow Engineers and leadership to devise innovative software solutions for our global institutional cryptocurrency operations.
  • Design, develop, and take ownership of high-performance backend solution stacks.
  • Enhance and optimize existing systems for scalability, extensibility, and performance.
  • Contribute to inter-team and cross-team initiatives to uphold technology and coding standards, ensuring adherence to optimal software design patterns.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and emerging technologies in the blockchain and tech landscape.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with Unix-like operating systems.
  • 1 to 7 years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Preferred experience in developing trading-related backend applications.
  • A natural curiosity and a solid understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interest in both traditional finance and cryptocurrency markets.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with modern backend technologies such as Python-Flask/FastAPI, JavaScript or TypeScript, SQL, and Redis.
  • Willingness to work with or learn Rust.
  • Knowledge of additional technologies like CI/CD, C/C++, and Solidity is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, GCP) is a plus.
  • Understanding the fundamentals of spot, futures, and options trading is beneficial.
