About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Manager to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Mental Health Services Team, you will play a vital role in providing clinical leadership and supporting the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day operational running of the Mental Health Services Team, working closely with the Clinical Lead/Supervisor and CAMHS management structure.
  • Holding a caseload and undertaking the role of lead professional for children/young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in educational settings.
  • Working collaboratively with young people and their families, incorporating the use of outcome measures within their work.
  • Offering specialist support, consultation, and training to staff within the service and other agencies where appropriate.
  • The post holder may have the opportunity to undertake a CYP IAPT supervisory course to become a supervisor for the Education Mental Health Professional (EMHP) at UCL, depending on existing qualifications and experience.
Person Specification
  • Core Professional qualification (e.g., Psychology, Nursing, Social work, Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, Family Therapy). Qualified teachers also considered.
  • Current professional registration with the appropriate professional body (HCPC, SSC, NMC, BACP).
  • Supervision training or demonstrable experience in supervising others.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • CYP IAPT qualification.
  • CBT qualification.
Key Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the educational system in England.
  • Knowledge of legislation in relation to children and adolescents and safeguarding procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of NHS, Social Care, and Education structures, national policies, and frameworks (NICE).
  • High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of short-term and long-term clinical interventions in CAMHS.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, timely, concise, and legible clinical records, adhering to CNWL policies.
  • Able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing, including reports and documentation.
  • Understanding of the 2014 Children and Families Act in regards to children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
