Position: Senior Power Platform Engineer

Working Hours: 45 hours per week

Compensation: Up to £80k based on experience

We are seeking a skilled Senior Power Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team at Project Partners, a well-established company in the infrastructure and civil engineering sector.

Role Overview:
The Senior Engineer will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of internal software solutions that enhance the operational efficiency of our organization, joint ventures, clients, and affiliated businesses.

This position primarily focuses on Microsoft Power Platform, where the engineer will lead the development of innovative construction-related applications, driving technological advancements within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain PowerApps solutions utilizing the low-code platform. Responsibilities include creating user interfaces, integrating data sources, implementing business logic, and ensuring applications meet functional specifications.
  • Database Design and Management: Develop and manage SQL databases for application data storage, including schema design, table relationships, performance optimization, and data integrity assurance.
  • Data Integration: Integrate diverse data sources such as SQL databases, SharePoint lists, Excel files, and external APIs, including data connection configuration and transformation processes.
  • Business Logic Implementation: Execute complex business logic within PowerApps using formulas and expressions, including user input validation, calculations, security policy enforcement, and workflow automation.
  • Performance Optimization: Enhance the performance of applications and SQL databases to ensure rapid response times and efficient resource use, including SQL query tuning and data retrieval optimization.
  • Security Implementation: Establish security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access to PowerApps and SQL databases, including role-based access controls and data encryption.
  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing of PowerApps solutions to identify and rectify issues, ensuring functionality across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Documentation and Governance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of PowerApps solutions and SQL databases, including technical guides and user manuals, while ensuring adherence to governance processes for development and production releases.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders, including business users and project managers, to gather requirements, provide project updates, and address feedback. Strong communication skills are essential for clarifying requirements and resolving challenges.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in PowerApps, SQL, and related technologies to enhance skills and improve solution quality through training and community engagement.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated project management experience, particularly in digital transformation initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, SQL, HTML, DAX, and their respective functionalities.
  • Experience managing projects utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Background in the water utilities construction sector or a related field.
  • Proficient low-code and ideally pro-code developer with substantial MS PowerApps experience.
