About the Role

Murphy is seeking a Senior Track Engineer to join our team in the North West and Central region. As a Senior Track Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in the successful development and implementation of the portfolio of renewals works, including bridge, stations, drainage, and earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build, install, test, and commission.
  • Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
  • Input into the Project Execution Plan to document the planned construction methodologies.
  • Review construction programmes for completeness and integration with other disciplines.
  • Prepare Inspection and Test Plan documents for track elements of projects as required.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure full understanding of the proposed track construction methodology and design.
  • Resolve technical problems at all levels and follow up with TQs.
  • Accurately set out track works and dimensional control.
  • Manage hire and off-hire of surveying equipment as required.
  • Ensure Critical Rail Temperatures and Track Monitoring is recorded and reported as required.
  • Ensure Track Handback Engineers complete Form A-G accurately.
  • Assist team members CEM/QS/PM as required with engineering input.
  • Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, and sub-contractors.
  • Manage ESRs and TSRs.
  • Maintain good working relations with client/designer/team, together with our supply chain.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary.
