About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs (SEN) team at Leigh Academy Milestone. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our teachers to deliver academic excellence and provide a nurturing environment for our pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with personal care and medical needs, including administering medication and undertaking moving and handling procedures
  • Assisting with physical activities such as swimming, PE, and outdoor activities like Forest School and community visits
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement to pupils with challenging behaviors
  • Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an academic setting
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and maths
  • Commitment to personal learning and development, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and pupils
