Job Description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant Apprentice

Job Type: Full-time, 18-month contract

Location: Primary Special School

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties, some with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their learning, behavior, and life skills
  • Provide physical and personal care where needed
  • Work towards NVQ level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the school

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to form effective relationships with students and staff
  • Commitment to working as part of a team to support student development
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to learn
  • Calming and sense of humor under pressure
  • Commitment to working towards NVQ qualification

Salary: Intermediate (Level 2) or Advanced (Level 3) apprenticeships

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week for 39 weeks per year (term time)
