Role Overview:

We are in search of a PE Apprentice to assist in Physical Education classes and provide administrative support to the Head of PE. The successful candidate will operate under the guidance of the Head of PE, adhering to established procedures and guidelines. The ideal applicant will possess a comprehensive understanding of Physical Education and be capable of setting up and utilizing equipment within the department, as well as organizing PE fixtures and preparing lesson resources as needed. Effective communication with students, colleagues, and staff is crucial, along with strong time management abilities.

You will undertake a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard. Additionally, you may be required to complete English and maths functional skills based on your existing qualifications.

As a Sports Apprentice, you will:

  • Provide educational support to the PE department.
  • Take responsibility for your apprenticeship training.
  • Uphold the Trust's values of being unusually brave, exploring possibilities, pushing boundaries, and demonstrating compassion.
  • Complete the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Attend regular reviews with your employer and apprenticeship Trainer every 10 weeks to assess your progress in the Level 3 program.

Your Trainer will meet with you in the workplace or online every 2-4 weeks. Between these meetings, you will have dedicated time away from your job to focus on your apprenticeship and compile evidence for your apprenticeship e-portfolio, with ongoing support from your Manager and Trainer.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage in a genuine role with diverse responsibilities from day one while working towards a qualification. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances.

To qualify for the Apprenticeship, applicants must have resided in the UK or EEA for three years prior to the commencement of the Apprenticeship. Please note: applicants must not have previously completed a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.

This will be a fixed-term position, and the duration of the apprenticeship will be determined by the job role and current skills. The typical duration of the apprenticeship is 21 months, although it may vary based on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.
