Postdoctoral Research Associate

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is a world-renowned centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Vector Biology Department and support the Ethnography Work Package team in the analysis and write-up of qualitative data for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis and write-up of qualitative data, ensuring high-quality research outputs that meet the needs of the project and its stakeholders.
  • Review and synthesise existing literature on large-scale interventions, focusing on water and land resource management, community development, cooperatives, and related topics.
  • Implement research in line with funding and administrative requirements, including gaining ethical approval as necessary.
  • Produce reports, papers, and other documentation to communicate research findings, including policy briefs and technical documents.
  • Contribute to project management and collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant discipline, such as anthropology or sociology.
  • Experience of complex interventions and multidisciplinary research.
  • Familiarity with NVivo software for analysing qualitative data.
  • Experience of planning and designing qualitative research projects.
  • Ability to develop data collection methods to capture qualitative data.
  • Experience of writing for peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and conference presentations.
  • Proficient in MS Office software, especially Word and PowerPoint.
