Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Stonehouse, Shift-based

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Kingston Barnes Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our high-precision manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to machine breakdowns, minimizing downtime and improving machine reliability.
  • Execute preventative and reactive maintenance, following plans set by the Lead/Senior Maintenance Engineer.
  • Apply root cause analysis and 5S to drive continuous improvement and solve persistent issues.
  • Work cost-consciously to identify savings and efficiencies.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and accurately log all tasks in an electronic system.
  • Collaborate with and train operators, apprentices, and craft workers in first-line and planned maintenance.
  • Liaise with suppliers for machine spares and third-party support when needed.
  • Promote quality and safety procedures to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and meet customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • Strong fault-finding skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with CNC/PLC fault finding and repair (Siemens, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley) highly desirable.
  • Ability to read pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a machine tool, assembly, or production environment.

What You'll Get:

  • Competitive salary between £45,000 - £50,000+, with potential for up to £53,000 with overtime.
  • Paid 2.5x salary for Saturday shifts (8 Saturdays per year required).

Shift Pattern:

  • Rotating three shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am (2 weeks per shift).
