Role Overview:

We are in search of a skilled Quantity Surveyor to become part of our team, focusing on a high-value nuclear project.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in overseeing the financial and contractual components of large-scale initiatives within the engineering services sector.

Your role will involve ensuring that projects are executed within budget while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management:
Oversee and regulate project expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints. Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial documentation.

Contract Administration:
Handle all contractual elements of the project, including the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts. Ensure adherence to all legal and contractual requirements.

Procurement:
Direct the procurement activities, encompassing supplier sourcing, managing tender processes, and negotiating agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.

Valuations:
Generate and submit interim valuations, manage final accounts, and ensure precise and timely invoicing. Effectively manage variations and change orders.

Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate potential financial risks, ensuring proactive management of all risks.

Client Liaison:

Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding financial and contractual issues, ensuring that client expectations are consistently met or surpassed.


Project Support:
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to guarantee the successful execution of projects. Provide financial and commercial insights to facilitate informed decision-making.

Reporting:
Compile regular financial reports, including cost/value reconciliations, and present findings to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying

Experience in a similar role:

Demonstrated history of working as a Quantity Surveyor within the engineering services sector, ideally on high-value and complex projects such as nuclear sites.


Commercial Awareness:
Strong grasp of commercial processes and the capability to effectively manage financial aspects of projects.

Attention to Detail:
Diligent approach to overseeing costs, contracts, and documentation to ensure precision and compliance.

Team Player:
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
