Support Worker Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Swanway, a Supported Living Service in Gateshead. Our service provides support to individuals with learning disabilities and other support needs, including autism, mental health support needs, and physical disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to support individuals with a wide range of activities, including going to discos, swimming, and going to the cinema. You will work closely with our team to provide person-centred support, promoting independence and empowering individuals to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing personal care to service users
  • Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Medication administration
  • Carrying out general administrative duties and housing management tasks

We value relevant experience of supporting people with a learning disability or autism, but we also welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate a 'can-do approach', person-centred values, energy, and commitment. You will have a strong work ethic and duty of care, and be able to contribute to a positive team approach.
