About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled financial professional to join our team as an Assistant Finance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Head of Finance and provide financial expertise to the Genomic Medicine Service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the mobilization and development of the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service.
  • Manage income across all providers and support monthly sub-contract meetings and financial models.
  • Work with NHS England and the GLH and GMSA networks to define activity reporting systems and KPIs.
  • Establish reporting against these, embed governance processes locally, and manage external assurance reporting.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Actively studying for full CCAB or equivalent qualification.
  • Financial management experience.
  • Presentation of highly complex financial and non-financial information.

  • Financial Systems experience.
  • NHS Financial Regime & Policies.
  • Principles of service line reporting & patient level costing.
  • Experience of writing reports and presentation including text and graphics.

  • Supporting managers and clinicians in the use of service line reporting & patient level cost information.
  • Exposure and experience of Income monitoring and contracting.
  • Exposure to finance in the NHS.
  • Staff management experience including recruitment, selection, objective setting, appraisals and managing performance.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Advanced excel skills.
  • Financial analysis and forecasting.
