About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Back End Software Engineer to join our team at The Engage Partnership Recruitment. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a crucial role in the development of data and reporting microservices within AWS, extending build and release pipelines, and designing new products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, build, and deploy robust and scalable web application back-ends, microservices, and pipelines.
  • Code Quality and Maintenance: Develop and maintain high-quality code, primarily using C#.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs.
  • Process Improvement: Maintain code quality, organisation, and automation processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with modern development technologies and practices.
Detailed Duties
  • Back-End Development: Develop and maintain back-end code for web applications.
  • Database Management: Create efficient database structures and ensure data integrity.
  • API Development: Build scalable APIs for communication between back-end, front-end, and other applications.
  • Security: Implement security measures to protect user data and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Code Review: Conduct code reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and fix issues in the back-end code.
  • Testing: Produce and run unit and integration tests.
  • Deployment: Deploy applications to non-production and production environments.
  • Process Automation: Work on automating and improving development and release processes.
Requirements
  • C# Expertise: Proficient in C# with a solid understanding of its ecosystem.
  • .NET Framework: Strong knowledge of the.NET framework.
  • Microservices: Excellent technical and development experience with microservices.
  • Clean Code: Ability to write clean, readable C# code and reusable C# libraries.
  • Design Patterns: Expertise in design and architectural patterns.
  • Version Control: Proficient with code versioning tools, primarily Git.
  • CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD tools, including GitHub Actions.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills.
Desirable Skills
  • AWS: Knowledge of AWS (preferred).
  • Observability Platforms: Experience with Datadog or similar observability platforms (preferred).
  • Kubernetes: Familiarity with Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Distributed Architectures: Experience with distributed and event-based architectures (preferred).
