Job Overview

In the role of Supply Chain Procurement Lead, you will be tasked with managing all procurement and purchasing functions within WJ Group Infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of necessary goods and services. Your expertise in negotiation and supplier management will be crucial in achieving optimal pricing while upholding the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery timelines.
  • Take charge of procurement activities across the organization, promoting consistency and best practices.
  • Formulate a strategic approach to the procurement of both direct and indirect goods/services, capitalizing on growth opportunities and the integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy, setting long-term objectives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Foster and maintain key supplier relationships, leading initiatives to identify and report on procurement savings through supply chain optimization.
  • Contribute to the development of a new ERP system to enhance procurement processes and ensure robust system-level controls. Generate key procurement-related management information, including supplier expenditure analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and the Board on procurement initiatives to ensure timely acquisition of essential supplies, facilitating the efficient delivery of services.
  • Act as the primary resource for procurement-related inquiries, policy interpretation, and alignment across departments, and work with the Training team to deliver procurement-specific training.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • CIPS Level 4/5 certification or equivalent experience.
  • A proven history of successful supplier negotiations and effective cost management.
  • A strong grasp of supply chain management principles and procurement best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in managing supplier relationships and engaging with internal stakeholders.
  • A demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment, with a self-motivated approach and adaptability in a multi-site, multi-business organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with IFS or other global ERP systems.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office and Power BI.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing or Construction sectors.
