Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Volunteer Services team in a dynamic and growing non-profit organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive volunteer strategy that aligns with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Volunteer Strategy: Work with our Director of People and Culture to design and improve our volunteer program, ensuring it meets the needs of our organization and the community we serve.
  • Recruitment and Retention: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain volunteers, including an annual advertising calendar and promotional events.
  • Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion: Implement plans that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in our volunteer program, including training and support for departments and managers.
  • Policies and Procedures: Create and update policies, procedures, and guidelines related to our volunteer workforce.
  • Volunteer Budget Management: Manage the volunteer budget and monitor the use of funds.
  • Team Support: Provide support and guidance to the volunteer team, including 1-2-1 sessions, appraisals, and reviews.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate Qualification: A postgraduate qualification in Volunteer Management, HR Management, or Organizational Development, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Experience: Evidence of continuing professional development in project management.
  • Volunteer Management Experience: Experience of developing and implementing volunteer strategies, including recruitment and retention.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Ability to train and coach others, model behavior for line managers, and lead with honesty, integrity, and care.
  • People Information Systems: Good knowledge of people information systems, recruitment processes, and procedures.
