C2 Charity Recruitment - Non-Profit Recruitment Specialists is seeking a skilled Volunteer Services Project Manager to join our client, a well-established non-profit organisation based in Romford, Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing the design and improvement of a comprehensive hospice volunteering service.
The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of experience in Volunteer Management, HR Management, or Organisational Development. They will be able to develop and implement a strategic attraction and onboarding approach, including an annual advertising calendar and promotion of Hospice volunteering at promotional events.
The Volunteer Services Project Manager will also be responsible for creating and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines as required, with reference to the volunteer workforce. They will hold the Volunteer budget and monitor use of funds, and support the Volunteer team by carrying out 1-2-1 sessions, appraisals for staff, and reviews for volunteers.
The successful candidate will be able to lead with honesty, integrity, and care, and be accountable for their actions. They will be able to develop, empower, and delegate effectively to achieve change and generate a positive, inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic attraction and onboarding approach for Hospice volunteering.
- Project manage the design and improvement of a comprehensive hospice volunteering service.
- Create and update policies, procedures, and guidelines as required, with reference to the volunteer workforce.
- Hold the Volunteer budget and monitor use of funds.
- Support the Volunteer team by carrying out 1-2-1 sessions, appraisals for staff, and reviews for volunteers.
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent level of experience in Volunteer Management, HR Management, or Organisational Development.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in project management.
- Experience of developing volunteer/people strategy to ensure the organisation is resourced with skilled, effective workforce.
- Able to train and coach others and model this behaviour to line managers.
- Experience of developing workforce plans and workforce initiatives that enable the organisation to deliver great Care.
- Good knowledge of people information systems, recruitment processes, and procedures.
- Ability to lead with honesty, integrity, and care.
- Be able to develop, empower, and delegate effectively to achieve change and generate a positive, inclusive workplace.
- A friendly, open, and warm team to offer support and guidance.
