Location: Bristol, with hybrid working and travel across UK sites

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + company bonus scheme + car allowance

The Role:

The Senior Bid Manager will oversee the end-to-end bid process for tenders in grid scale solar PV, battery energy storage, and ICP construction projects. This includes managing bid teams, coordinating inputs from key stakeholders, and resolving complex technical and business issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leading the bid process to ensure timely, compliant, and commercially sound submissions.
  2. Collaborating with the Business Development lead to develop clear win strategies and compelling themes for each bid.
  3. Managing bid teams and coordinating inputs from stakeholders across functions.
  4. Resolving complex technical and business issues, working closely with legal and commercial teams.
  5. Tracking and managing risks, ensuring all internal governance and KPIs are met.
  6. Overseeing client presentations and bid budgets, and driving continuous improvement through post-bid reviews.
  7. Supporting the development of Bid Managers and contributing to the organisation's bid strategy.

Requirements:

  1. Substantial experience in a similar position.
  2. Proven ability to meet business and organisational objectives.
  3. Good understanding of bid process management, requirements, and dynamics.
  4. Leadership skills with ability to drive the delivery of complex bid submissions.
  5. Proven ability to coach and develop others.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  7. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  8. Commercially aware of the construction industry.
  9. Assertive and resilient.
  10. Passion for quality, continuous improvement, excellence, and innovation.
  11. A qualification (HND/HNC) in quantity surveying, building surveying, construction management, or engineering would be highly desirable.

The Rewards:

A competitive salary package of £65,000 to £75,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus a company bonus scheme of up to 20% of salary, car allowance, Pension scheme, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) incremental with years of service, Employee Assistance Programme, Life Assurance, Optional Private Medical Insurance, Cycle Scheme, Study Support, and more.
