About the Role
Starling Bank, a leading digital financial institution, is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing data-driven solutions that enhance decision-making processes and contribute to the safety and security of our platform.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement machine learning models to detect and prevent financial crime activities.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to gather, analyze, and interpret complex financial data.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines for efficient data processing and analysis.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify emerging trends and patterns in financial crime.
- Present your findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, with a focus on financial crime detection.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, along with experience with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Excellent data wrangling, visualization, and storytelling skills.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and version control tools.
- Experience deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Interest in building explainable AI models.
