Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Richmond Villages Wood Norton. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all catering areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist our Chefs in preparing simple meals and ancillary items for service
- Wash dishes by hand or load the dishwasher, ensuring clean items are stored neatly and safely
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors to prevent grease and spillage
- Wash work tables, walls, kitchen equipment, and appliances according to cleaning schedules
- Operate kitchen equipment and transfer it safely between storage and work areas
- Ensure the kitchen is kept tidy and secure, with rubbish removed and supplies stored correctly
- Adhere to company Food Safety and Health and Safety policies, maintaining all records outlined in the HACCP policy
Requirements:
You will possess an understanding of Health and Safety and knowledge of maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. Ideally, you should have an up-to-date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and prior experience in a catering department or kitchen. You should also be organized and adaptable, capable of working effectively within a team and independently.
