About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Chef to join our team at Heathlands Residential Care Home. As an Assistant Chef, you will work closely with the Chef Manager to prepare high-quality meals for our residents, promoting food hygiene and safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals for residents, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
- Monitor and maintain food hygiene and safety standards, carrying out risk assessments and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Interact with residents, visitors, and colleagues in a friendly and approachable manner, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the Chef Manager to plan and implement menus, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
Requirements:
- Experience in a catering environment, with a valid food hygiene certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
