Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to lead our software development team at Werfen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading software development activities, including software requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership on a software development team, participating in requirements review, design reviews, code reviews, test case reviews, and team meetings.
  • Participate as an active member on a project development team, including requirements change control, defect management, risk analysis, and release management.
  • Create and maintain software requirement/functional specifications, software architecture documentation, and software design documentation.
  • Develop and maintain software source code that adheres to design documentation, perform unit testing and/or code reviews as per project policy, and perform integration testing to ensure software functions within application and with electrical and mechanical devices.
  • Evaluate, investigate, and implement fixes to assigned software defects and evaluate, investigate, and implement assigned software change proposals.
  • Provide level of effort for assigned software activities, track personal estimates over time to improve accuracy, and follow project and corporate software plans, standards, and procedures to perform software development.
  • Create and maintain software project plans and software configuration management plans, coordinate, schedule, and supervise software developers for a project.
  • Bring new software technologies into the company, create and maintain applications (utilities) for the project to improve team efficiency, and take ownership for a large percentage of the code base.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience or Master's Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of related experience or waiver based on experience.
  • Proficiency with a personal computer and software packages, proficient in code languages (Assembly, C, C++, Java, C#, etc.) found in product development.
