About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Swimming Instructor to join our team at Kings Camps. As a Swimming Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and safe swimming lessons to children aged 5-17.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality swimming lessons to mixed ability groups, focusing on building water confidence and improving swimming techniques.
  • Ensure the welfare of children is paramount at all times, supervising children during their lunch breaks, participating in swimming sessions, and overseeing safe use of equipment.
  • Record any incidents and maintain accurate records.
  • Work collaboratively with the Camp Manager and other staff members to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for children.

Requirements:

  • 12 months experience as a swim teacher.
  • Up-to-date SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 certification.
  • Current Lifeguard Qualification: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award to Swimming Teachers and Coach (NRASTC).
  • 6 months experience working with 5-17-year-olds.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching or mentoring younger individuals.
  • A collaborative attitude, comfortable with rotating duties and forming positive relationships with both children and staff.
  • Ability to design, plan, and deliver safe and dynamic sessions from the poolside or in the water.
