Job Overview

The Sterling Choice is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and inspect our facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Manage contractor relationships, ensuring that all contractors are aware of and adhere to our health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness and understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with our Health and Safety Manager to maintain and improve our health and safety management system, ensuring that we meet the requirements of ISO 45001.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
