Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join our Primary Care Mental Health Services team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to work in our ambitious Primary Care Mental Health Services. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties within the primary care setting.

Key Responsibilities

The role will involve assessing people's mental health needs within a primary care setting and taking responsibility for a clinical caseload. The successful candidate will also be responsible for delivering brief, short-term, and low-intensity psychological interventions, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focused approaches.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree-level qualification, such as a Registered Nurse (Mental Health), Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist. They will also have evidence of post-registration continuing professional development activity and experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will also have experience in a range of clinical settings, teaching experience, and postgraduate training or CBT/counselling skills. They will also have the ability to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and awareness of current evidence base relevant to the area of practice.
