Facilities Support Assistant - Morning Shift
Group G3AA (Weekday 07:45-13:45) (Weekend 08:00-13:00) x 1
BWC Management Services Ltd is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Facilities Department as Domestic Support Assistants. The successful candidates will be responsible for a comprehensive range of cleaning tasks within our vibrant healthcare environment. While prior experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory as thorough training will be provided. You will become an integral part of our existing domestic support team.
Available Positions:
Group G3AA (07:45-13:45) x 2
As part of a 4-week rotational schedule, you will work on alternating weekends, ensuring that you meet the contracted hours each week.
Key Responsibilities:
General Duties
- Work across various departments as directed by Domestic Supervisors.
- Execute all tasks as outlined in the standard operating procedures for your assigned area.
- Perform specialized cleaning for isolation areas as required.
- Utilize mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the Facilities Supervisor.
- Assist with kitchen duties, including washing dishes and utensils after patient meals.
- Ensure the replenishment of essential supplies such as hand towels and soap.
- Manage waste collection and disposal in accordance with established policies.
- Adhere to all Facilities Services protocols and Codes of Practice.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness following the prescribed procedures and schedules.
- Safely operate cleaning machinery and store cleaning agents appropriately.

Qualifications and Experience:
Desirable:
- Basic cleaning qualifications such as NVQs 1 or 2 in a relevant field.
Essential Knowledge/Experience:
- Understanding of the role and associated work procedures.
Desirable Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience in a similar role or environment.
- Experience within the NHS sector.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including kneeling, bending, and lifting.
- Competence in operating equipment and machinery.
- Capability to manage repetitive movements and handle weights with or without mechanical aids.
Desirable Skills:
- Basic knowledge of cleaning materials and manual handling techniques.
- Understanding of COSHH regulations.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and respond to inquiries.
