SEMH Mentor Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Mentor to join our partner secondary school in West Leeds. As part of the Leeds framework for supply agency staff, this full-time position offers a daily rate of £90 - £120, dependent on experience.

About the Role

As an SEMH Mentor, you will provide vital support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and directly within the specialist school unit to ensure students receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with SEMH needs on a one-to-one or group basis.
  • Develop and implement school plans and strategies to improve student well-being and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external services to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the wider school team.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with certain emotional support needs.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEMH or other additional needs (preferably in a school setting).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A passion for supporting young people and promoting mental well-being.
