Job Summary

This is a challenging role for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who has expertise in neurological disorders and communication difficulties. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to provide specialized assessment and therapy for dysphagia and communication impairments to a diverse range of adult clients with complex conditions, including acquired and progressive neurological conditions, mental health diagnoses, and Huntington's disease, Parkinson's, and stroke.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload of patients autonomously with appropriate clinical and managerial supervision
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and measure outcomes for individuals with complex mental health and/or neurological impairments
  • Assess and treat individuals with cognitive and physical swallowing disorders resulting from mental health and/or neurological impairments, including implementation of risk feeding protocols where necessary
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized goals and treatment programs, providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy advice
  • Work with clients and their families to ensure goals are co-produced and client-centered, while managing expectations as appropriate
Requirements
  • Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
  • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
  • Evidence of competence in managing dysphagic patients
  • Well-established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group
  • Member of a relevant Clinical Excellence Network
