Job Summary

This is a challenging role for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who has expertise in neurological disorders and communication difficulties. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to provide specialized assessment and therapy for dysphagia and communication impairments to a diverse range of adult clients with complex conditions, including acquired and progressive neurological disorders, mental health diagnoses, and Huntington's disease, Parkinson's, and stroke.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload of patients autonomously with appropriate clinical and managerial supervision
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and measure outcomes for individuals with complex mental health and/or neurological impairments
  • Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy advice to the multidisciplinary team and develop individualized goals and treatment programs
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure client-centered care and effective communication

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
    • Current AHP with UK HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
    • Evidence of competence in managing dysphagic patients
  • Desirable:
    • Well-established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group
    • Member of a relevant Clinical Excellence Network
